The Nook BESS will support a more affordable, reliable, and renewable electricity system. It will help reduce energy prices for Tasmanian consumers by:

· Enabling more renewable energy from wind and solar — the most cost-effective forms of generation

· Increasing market competition, which helps lower wholesale electricity prices

· Improving grid reliability, reducing the risk of blackouts and system disruptions

The system will have the capacity to power thousands of Tasmanian homes — exact figures will be provided as the project advances.

A Community Benefit-Sharing Scheme will be established to ensure the Nook BESS delivers lasting value to the surrounding community throughout its operational life.
